Go into the Living Room

You step into the living room and immediately notice a trophy case. Someone has been here before you—the glass is shattered, and most of the items inside are gone. One object, however, remains.

At the back of the trophy case rests a long dagger, nearly large enough to be considered a small sword. Its sheath lies beside it, both the blade and the sheath are well worn and poorly maintained. Whoever ransacked the rest of the treasures clearly dismissed the dagger as unworthy of the effort to take.

You debate with yourself but eventually decide to take the dagger and sheath. After a few practice swings with the dagger, you hook the sheath to your belt and then stow the dagger in the sheath.

Just as you are about to leave, you notice a trap door in the floor.
